INTELLECTUAL CONTENT

We are committed to respecting copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property. We will not reproduce copyrighted material or use intellectual property unless we (or our customer) have a license or permission to do so.

We can reproduce images for the art creator, the copyright owner, a customer with a license or permission, or for sale when we own a license.  Images created prior to 1923 or by the US government are in the public domain and can also be reproduced without getting permission.

Otherwise, copyrights are automatic and begin when a work is created; registering a copyright and including a copyright notice are both voluntary.  The absence of a copyright notice do not authorize us to make copies.

The buyer of a work of art cannot authorize us to make prints without written permission from the artist; the creator still owns the copyright unless they transfer that right.

Images found online are not generally free to reproduce and we cannot do so without evidence that they are “public domain.”

As both printer and art dealer, our reputation for respecting intellectual property is important to us and critical to customers’ and artists’ trust.
